strengthening and deepening partnership with WFP
The World Food Programme has been a long-standing partner of the Ministry of Education in the provision of school meals, since 1979.
Schools meals are an essential component of the Government’s drive to enhance access and retention in basic education, especially in food insecure areas of Kenya.
This morning, the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba, hosted the incoming County Director of the World Food Programme, Ms. Betty Ka, at his Jogoo House B offices. The meeting explored discussed strategies for strengthening and deepening our partnership, especially in view of Kenya’s ambition to increase the coverage of school meals to at least 10 million learners by 2030.
