KPEEL Result Area 3
This Results Area deals with Strengthening the implementation of the initiated reforms to improve learning for all through Implementation of Competency Based Assessment (CBA) at Basic Education and Teacher Education Levels.
The following are the Disbursement Linked indicators (DLIs) under this Results Area:

Disbursement Level indicators (DLI) 5.
This deals with the rollout of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) and Competency Based Assessment (CBA) evidenced by the achievement of key implementation milestones. It’s implemented by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).
For KICD, the milestones achieved are:
1) Development of CBC scope and sequence for grades 10-12.
2) Curriculum designs (grades 10 to 12), and curriculum support materials developed and
adapted (for special needs) for Grades 4-9 and teacher education; and support materials for indigenous languages (VMGF) for grades 1 to 6, developed and printed.
Awareness creation on utilization of adapted digital content.
For KNEC, this DLI has achieved the following milestones:
1. Development of CBA portal and tracking utilization of the portal from Grade 3 to 9
2.Upgrading of online CBATE portal.
3.Training teachers in CBA, including teachers in the camp-based refugee schools, (Grades 6
and 7- 2023; Grades 8-2024; and Grade 9-2025).
